What it keeps

The numbers come from the card, not from a second app

Scoring

Scoring average, best round, birdies and eagles, from every round you logged.

Fairways, greens, putts

Tapped in by hand as you play, when you choose to track them.

Read back to you

Which side you miss fairways, how often you three-putt, how the birdies-to-doubles spread is running.

Your trend

How you are doing against your earlier rounds, and your weeks-in-a-row streak.

Nines count

A nine counts toward your rounds, birdies and fairway, green and putt stats; average and best round come from full eighteens.

Old rounds too

Post a round with any past date. Hole by hole, it counts like a round you scored live.

Against your level

"What should I work on" gets a real answer.

With your index on your profile and a few tracked rounds, your fairways, greens, putts, and 3-putts line up against the typical ranges for your handicap band.

No index on file, no comparison: the app will not invent a handicap to measure you against.

And the number that matters at the bar.

What golfers ask before they try it

Does it track my stats?

Scoring average, best round, birdies and eagles, and, when you track them, fairways, greens, and putts, with honest benchmarks for your handicap. It reads those numbers back to you too (which side you miss fairways, how often you three-putt, how the birdies-to-doubles spread is running) alongside your trend against earlier rounds and your weeks-in-a-row streak. Stats only count rounds you actually logged. A nine counts toward your rounds, birdies and fairway, green and putt stats; scoring average and best round come from full eighteens.

Can I see how I compare to other golfers my handicap?

Once your index is on your profile and you've tracked a few rounds, your stats page lines your fairways, greens, putts, and 3-putts up against the typical ranges for that handicap band, so "what should I work on" has a real answer. No index on file, no comparison: we won't invent a handicap to measure you against.

Does it have a GPS rangefinder?

No, there's no rangefinder or shot tracking on the course. Fairways, greens, and putts are tapped in by hand, and GPS is only used to find courses near you.

Can it estimate my handicap if I don't have an official one?

No, Swilkin is not a handicap authority: it does not calculate an index and does not post scores to GHIN. Type your WHS or GHIN index on your profile and every net score, board, and bet uses it. Without one you play off scratch, and the app says so rather than guessing a number for you. You can keep your GHIN number on your profile; nothing is sent anywhere.

Can I post a round I already played?

Yes. Post a round takes any past date. Enter it hole by hole and it counts toward your stats like a round you scored live; a total-only post counts as a round played but stays out of your scoring average, best round and birdie counts. If a game was on it, pick the game first (the same games, sides, and prices as Start a round) and it settles off the holes the moment you post.
