It can, or ride along. Plenty of groups keep paper in the cart and post it at the 19th hole with Post a round (totals, hole by hole, or a photo of the card), which keeps the history and the stats. If money was riding on it, pick the game on Post a round before the scores, the same games as Start a round, enter the card hole by hole, and the games settle off it.
