Front, back, and total are three separate bets. The stake is one number each ("a $10 Nassau") or a price per leg for the $5/$5/$10 crowd, and each leg plays as a match or on total strokes. With three sides or more it becomes a Nassau against every pair, or one medal Nassau across the whole field. A nine-hole Nassau is a single leg.
